OVERVIEW
The majority of the program is on-the-job training where apprentices earn wages and benefits which increase with skill attainment as the program progresses. Students also attend one full day of school every two weeks at the Detroit EITC.
Information for applications for the apprenticeship is located at this link: How To Apply – Detroit EITC.
Applicants must be 18 years of age, must have completed one year of high school algebra, has a high school diploma or a GED to meet the application requirements for the programs. Qualified applicants are sent a Personal Experience Form (PEF) link from GAN Human Resources after all the applications are processed. Applicants will complete the form and upload transcripts and supporting documents. Shortly after the PEF form is completed, the applicant will be scheduled for an aptitude exam. Rankings for placement are based on the combined score of the PEF, aptitude exam, and letter of recommendation.
All apprenticeship programs are based on simultaneous classroom and job site training. Classes are started as manpower demands dictate and vary based on economic conditions in the market at any given time.
